Students are often partnered in classrooms to collaborate on specific tasks. But what does student talk sound like in these pairings? How are students engaging and is this collaborative time effective?
In this session, we will use video and transcripts to analyze student partner talk. We will consider how student learning can be impacted by any number of things including the social-emotional dynamics of the partnership. We will also share specific tools and lessons we have created to help students develop more robust partner talk.
