What tools support the development of computational fluency? In this One-Day Think Tank for Grades K-2, participants will explore how a games routine can be used to support mastery of the basic building blocks (aka the “facts”) and the landmark strategies that are foundational for fluency.

PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPLORE TOOLS FOR:
- assessing students’ mathematical development so that they can pick just-right games for them.
- analyzing resources so that they can build a classroom library that includes both skill-based and reasoning games.
- Creating management structures that support student independence, collaboration, and communication.
PARTICIPANTS WILL LEAVE WITH:
- specific games to use in their classrooms.
- a write-up of how to structure a just-right games routine in their classrooms.
- key facilitation tools to use to support student independence and communication.
