Grades K-5: Routines to Develop Mindfulness

What is mindfulness and why is it important for our students? One definition of mindfulness is that it’s “the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.”

In this One-Day Think Tank for Grades K-5, we will explore routines that have been specifically designed to develop students’ capacity to stay present, to be aware of their emotions, to know when and how they are being distracted and to find ways to re-engage in learning.
